Version 3
I can tell princess Rapunzel's story, the Disney version. In the film, the scene starts with baby Rapunzel in her crib, her parents, the king, and queen, gazing at her adoringly. Rapunzel doesn't know that she is royalty. Her 'mother', or Mother Gothel, stole her from the king and queen when she was a baby because her hair has magical healing abilities, and she wanted to stay young forever. So Rapunzel has been missing all of these years, and the kingdom calls her the 'lost princess.' On Rapunzel's birthday, she tricks her mother and asks her to go on a long trip for some special paints as a birthday gift. While her mother is away, Rapunzel tries to convince herself to leave and see the world, but the love interest, a thief, climbs Rapunzel's tower and shows up in her room. The thief, Eugene, had just stolen the kingdom's crown and climbed her tower to get away from the castle guards chasing him. Eugene decides to help Rapunzel on her journey of discovery and what lies beyond the building. Of course, Rapunzel hiding the crown from him has to do with Eugene's decision. Eugene would have to be Rapunzel's guide in exchange for the crown. They go on this adventure together and end up falling in love. But, her 'mother' shows up and devises a plan to make it look like Eugene was deceiving Rapunzel the whole time. It works, and she traps Rapunzel in the tower. But, Eugene saves her, and her 'mother' falls from the tower and dies. In the end, Eugene and Rapunzel go back to the kingdom, and the king and queen recognize Rapunzel as their long-lost daughter.
